What are the advantages of the screw material of Yongte WPC granulation machine?

In the production workshop of Qingdao Yongte Factory, a WPC granulation machine equipped with WR4 screw is running at high speed stably.

WR4 is a high-performance wear-resistant alloy material, mainly used in the manufacturing of key components of industrial equipment, especially in twin-screw extruders, mixing components and other fields. The following is a detailed analysis of its core characteristics and application scenarios:

WR4 Material core characteristics

WR4 is a high-alloy wear-resistant steel with properties bridging those of high-speed steels (e.g., W6Mo5Cr4V2) and special alloys, combining exceptional hardness, wear resistance, and impact toughness. Industry applications demonstrate that WR4 exhibits over twice the wear resistance of conventional high-speed steels like W6Mo5Cr4V2 while maintaining moderate corrosion resistance. This makes it ideal for enduring prolonged exposure to high temperatures, high pressures, and material friction in industrial environments.

1. performance parameters

(1) Hardness: after quenching and tempering, it can reach HRC58~62 (close to the level of high-speed steel), and the hardness can be further improved to HV1200~1500 after surface nitriding or coating treatment.

(2) Wear resistance: in the scene of wood pellet molding, plastic modification, etc., the life of WR4 screw is 1.5~3 times longer than ordinary nitriding steel (such as 38CrMoAlA).

(3) High temperature resistance: long-term use temperature can reach 300~400℃, high temperature still can maintain stable mechanical properties.

(4) Impact resistance: By optimizing the alloy ratio (such as adding chromium, molybdenum, vanadium and other elements), WR4 has better toughness than traditional high-speed steel, which can resist the instantaneous impact caused by impurities in raw materials.

2. Chemical composition and alloy design

WR4 is a chromium-molybdenum-tantalum series alloy containing the following elements:
