In response to the technical verification requirements of our Canadian client, our professional engineering team recently completed a successful on-site machine trial of our innovative Plastic Lumber Making Machine. Centering on the core advantages of this custom-developed equipment—direct processing of raw plastic flakes, energy-efficient operation, and forced vacuum degassing system—the trial was primarily carried out to verify the feasibility of skipping the traditional pelletization process and directly extruding finished solid lumber products with waste PE fragments. Meanwhile, we collected full-process production data to further optimize the die structure and cooling & sizing system tailored for thick solid plastic planks.
The entire trial was conducted with our upgraded Plastic Lumber Making Machine, a high-energy-efficiency vented extruder integrated with a professional forced vacuum exhaust function. Uniquely designed for waste plastic recycling, this machine supports direct feeding and extrusion of unprocessed waste PE flakes without pre-pelletization, stably producing standard 200mm × 50mm solid plastic lumber planks. Unlike traditional plastic extrusion equipment that requires tedious and high-energy pelletization pretreatment, ourPlastic Lumber Making Machine features a specialized structural design that perfectly adapts to irregular waste plastic fragments. It effectively simplifies the production flow, cuts down redundant auxiliary procedures, and delivers remarkable energy-saving and efficiency-boosting performance. The core test objectives were to validate the equipment’s superior adaptability for direct flake extrusion and explore optimized forming and cooling solutions for thick plastic profiles.
The trial yielded outstanding technical results, fully verifying the superior performance of our self-developed Plastic Lumber Making Machine. Equipped with a professional built-in forced vacuum exhaust system and high-precision plasticization structure, the machine enables complete melting and uniform homogenization of raw waste PE flakes during the one-step direct extrusion process. Its powerful vacuum degassing technology thoroughly eliminates internal air, moisture and volatile impurities generated during waste plastic processing. As a result, the finished plastic lumber samples boast an ultra-fine, dense and sturdy cutting surface with zero internal bubbles and excellent structural compactness. This conclusive test result confirms that our energy-saving Plastic Lumber Making Machine can manufacture high-quality solid plastic lumber directly from waste plastic flakes. It eliminates the high-energy-consumption pelletization process required by conventional machines, achieving perfect integration of high production efficiency, low energy consumption and superior product quality for recycled plastic lumber production.
Meanwhile, the trial also identified a key optimization point for thick-profile production. Due to the 50mm extra-thick cross-section of the plastic lumber, internal heat accumulates during continuous extrusion and cannot be dissipated in a timely manner, resulting in partial surface bulging of the finished products. This phenomenon is a typical technical challenge for thick solid plastic profile extrusion rather than equipment performance defects. Based on the data collected from this trial, our engineering team will carry out targeted optimization, including die orifice structure adjustment, graded circulating cooling system design and heat dissipation path upgrading, to completely solve the heat accumulation and bulging problem and ensure stable forming and consistent flatness of thick plastic lumber products.
